  • BULLARD HIGH SCHOOL STRIKE PLAN

If FUSD and the FTA do not come to a contractual agreement, FTA has communicated that teachers will strike on Wednesday, November 1st. Bullard High School will remain open, safe, and learning will continue for our students during a teacher strike. Below is information for our families on how to navigate through school if a teacher strike does take place.

School Schedule

Student Drop Off/Pick Up/Buses

Student drop off and pick up will remain the same. Parents may drop off and pick up students on Palm, Browning, and Barstow. Students who drive to school can still park in the north parking lot off Browning Ave. Our busses will continue to pick-up and drop-off at their regular locations.  If any changes are made, we will communicate real-time updates through ParentSquare, so I highly recommend downloading the free ParentSquare app from the Apple or Google Play store and turning on your app notifications to get updates quickly and easily.

Advisory & Classroom Locations

All students will report to their grade level designated Advisory location to start each day when the bell rings at 8:30am. Once you arrive to your Advisory on the first day, attendance will be taken and you will receive your new class schedule. Please be sure to bring your Student ID with you every day, as this will be used to take attendance in every period.

Absences

Because our schools will stay open, safe and full of learning during a teacher strike, if families choose to keep their student home from school their absence will be unexcused. To report an absence, please call our attendance office at (559) 451-4333 or (559) 451-4334.

After School & Athletic Programs

Our extended learning afterschool program will continue as normal. All other after-school activities will be cancelled for safety and security reasons.

Our fall sports will continue with practice and games during a strike. Many of the assistant coaches are not teachers and will be working as usual on these days. Additional staff from the district will also support and provide supervision as our fall sports continue their quests to playoffs and championships.

Events/Extra Curricular Activities

All events or activities will be cancelled during an active teacher strike day.  They include but are not limited to:

  • Winter sprots tryouts, practices, scrimmages, games
  • Band, Orchestra, Choir, and Theatre practices, auditions and/or performances.
