Welcome to the Home Page for the Business Marketing and Technology Pathway!

Do you have an interest in business, or have always liked the idea of starting your own?  Do you have a great business or product idea, but are not sure how to get it off the ground and be successful?  Do you have an interest in photography or video, and want to know how to make your pictures and videos even better?  Have you always wondered how websites are constructed, or visited one that you think you could definitely make better – if only you had the skills?  The Business Marketing and Technology Pathway is for you!

What is it?

The Business Marketing and Technology Pathway is designed to provide students with a Linked Learning opportunity tightly aligned with Business and Technology.  Students participating in the pathway will not only learn about business administration, marketing, and entrepreneurship, but also deeply involve them in the use and understanding of technology and the software used in the industry to develop graphic design, video productions, and other multimedia skills along with web site development to build a strong online presence for business.

How Does It Work? What can I expect?

The Business Marketing and Technology Pathway is a 4-year program.  Each year students are in linked learning classes that infuse business and technology concepts into their core classes, while connecting those core academic skills in their career technical education classes.  Throughout their pathway experience, students are engaged in project-based learning and several opportunities for work-based learning and experiences in the field, like job shadowing and internships.  Students can also benefit from project advisors from the industry to make sure their work is relevant and meets industry standards.

What Comes Afterward?

Students will be prepared for a full range of post-secondary opportunities through their work in the pathway.  Students choosing to continue their education at the community college or university level will be aware of the particular programs and majors those institutions offer, and likewise students choosing to begin work in the business field immediately after high school will graduate with industry-approved certifications, important job-seeking and workplace skills, and an understanding of how to enter the industry with an awareness of growth opportunities once there.
