Teacher Academy

One of the most exciting aspects of the Teacher Academy is the opportunity to go off campus and work directly with students at Gibson and Malloch Elementary Schools. This isn’t just a classroom exercise – it’s real-world experience that sets you apart.  

Here’s what you’ll do:  
Shadow Experienced Teachers: Observe and learn from seasoned educators as they lead lessons, manage classrooms, and connect with students.  
Assist in the Classroom: Work one-on-one or in small groups with elementary students, helping them with reading, math, and other subjects.  
Plan and Lead Activities: Under the guidance of your mentor teacher, you’ll have the chance to design and lead your own lessons or activities, putting your creativity and teaching skills to the test.  
Build Relationships: Form meaningful connections with students, teachers, and school staff, gaining insights into the day-to-day life of an educator.

• Real-World Experience: Get out of the classroom and into the field, working with real students and teachers in elementary schools.  
• College and Career Readiness: Earn college credits, build your resume, and develop skills that will prepare you for a career in education or any field that values leadership and communication.
